SMARTLipo™

A sensible diet and exercise are important in the fight against fat, but sometimes they just are not enough.

SMARTLipo™ is an outpatient procedure, performed with local anesthetic and takes on average two to six hours.

A unique benefit of SMARTLipo™ is that it promotes skin tightening through thermal heating and tissue coagulation, something traditional liposuction cannot do. This allows men and women with loose skin (who previously were not ideal candidates for conventional liposuction) to achieve very nice results.

SMARTLipo™ is a simple outpatient treatment that is performed with a local anesthetic and usually takes two to six hours. Compared to traditional liposuction, SMARTLipo™ results in less bleeding, less bruising, less swelling, less discomfort, smaller incisions and better results in most cases.

How does SMARTLipo™ work?

A paperclip-thin probe approximately 1-2mm in diameter containing a laser fiber is inserted beneath the skin. The probe is moved back and forth delivering the laser's energy to the fat cells, causing them to rupture and easily drain away. The laser energy also interacts with the dermis, resulting in collagen shrinkage.

SMARTLipo™ is a minimally invasive treatment and can be performed under local anesthesia. The laser causes small blood vessels to coagulate immediately on contact, resulting in less bleeding, swelling and bruising, - and a quicker recovery time than conventional liposuction.

Who is a good candidate for SMARTLipo™?
Those with areas of fat that do not respond to diet and exercise are probably good candidates for SmartLipo™. Ideally, candidates are in good health, of normal body weight and have realistic expectations for results.


What areas of the body can be treated with SMARTLipo™?
SMARTLipo™ is most effective in treating small areas of localized fat on the neck, arms, back, waist, abs, hips, thighs, and knees. Also because of its skin tightening effect, there may also be a benefit of SMARTLipo™ in conjunction with conventional liposuction on larger areas of the body.
